Equipping International Publication Skills: A Solid Foundation for the Professional Development Path of FAIE Lecturers

All lecturers of the Faculty participated in the program to promote international publications.

On the morning of 6 January 2026, The Faculty of Administration International Economics (Lac Hong University) successfully organized the thematic seminar “Promoting International Publications” at Room B203. The event was not merely a regular academic session but also provided concrete solutions to remove barriers in scientific research currently faced by lecturers.

PhD Nguyen Van Tan delivered an orientation speech on scientific research activities and internationalization.

An Opportunity to Standardize Research Capacity According to International Standards

In his remarks at the program, PhD Nguyen Van Tan – Dean of The Faculty of Administration International Economics – highlighted the University’s current integration context under the sponsorship and partnership of Arizona State University (ASU).

PhD Nguyen Van Tan emphasized the core value that the event brings to the Faculty’s staff: “For lecturers who hold a Master’s degree, mastering the skills required for publishing international journal articles is a prerequisite for successfully preparing doctoral application dossiers. For those who already hold a PhD, this is an opportunity to further enhance professional reputation and affirm academic standing in an increasingly internationalized educational environment.”

Learning Directly from the Experience of a Q1 and Q2 Journal Editor

A key highlight of the program was the guidance of Associate Professor PhD Nguyen Viet Bang – Director of the Digital Business Program, UEH College of Business.

Beyond sharing from the perspective of an author, Associate Professor PhD Nguyen Viet Bang also provided an “insider” viewpoint as he currently serves as Editor for two reputable international journals: Journal of Promotion Management (Q2 ranking) and Acta Psychologica (Q1 ranking). As a result, participating lecturers received detailed clarification regarding the implicit criteria editorial boards often seek in a high-quality manuscript.

    Practical “Strategies” for Lecturers

Rather than focusing on theoretical content, the seminar delved into practical procedures to optimize lecturers’ chances of publication:

Journal selection strategy: Guidance on how to search for and verify suitable journals, and avoid low-quality journals.

Manuscript optimization: Analysis of the standard structure of an international journal article and common “pitfalls” that may lead to immediate rejection.

Profile management skills: Instructions on creating and professionally managing a Scopus profile.

Submission process: Step-by-step guidance on operating online manuscript submission systems.

Through this thematic seminar, The Faculty of Administration International Economics expects to create a strong shift in both the quantity and quality of international publications in the 2025–2026 academic year, thereby enhancing lecturers’ competitiveness in the digital era.
