[FAIE] LHU Accompanies Students in the Entrepreneurship Program.

Vietnam is a country evaluated as having a young, healthy, and creative labor force, with a hardworking, intelligent, and diligent nature. In addition, Vietnam is also assessed as a developing country.

Because of this, in recent years the issue of entrepreneurship has received the State’s attention, emphasis, and high evaluation. It can be said that this is an inevitable trend in the development of the economy and society.

Understanding clearly the role of entrepreneurship, the mission of leadership in the field of education, and recognizing the creativity of the youngest generation—especially in the current era of science and technology development and the information explosion—entrepreneurship is not only an opportunity to solve unemployment but also a way to find solutions for economic and social development.

At the national level, entrepreneurship is considered a core task in thoroughly exploiting and promoting the creativity of the young generation, sparking passion in labor, reducing unemployment rates, and pushing back other social evils. According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, in 2022 the country had more than 20,000 newly established startup enterprises, an increase of 10% compared to 2021. Among them, many startups have achieved success, creating valuable products and services that contribute to changing people’s lives.

Award Ceremony of the DESIGN THINKING Competition

Lac Hong University (LHU) is one of the universities leading the trend of entrepreneurship, playing a pioneering role alongside students to implement entrepreneurial ideas and also achieving truly impressive results, such as: more than 100 startup projects created and nearly 10 intellectual properties commercialized.

Accompanying the entrepreneurship program, there are 10 faculty members trained as startup mentors. This team of lecturers/advisors with expertise and experience serves as a source of support to help students be confident and steady on their entrepreneurial path. Alongside many other programs and startup models that the university has deployed, notable achievements have also been recorded.

This has been affirmed by the timely attention and investment of the university, especially the Board of Leaders, which has been very concerned and focused on the issue of entrepreneurship. The university ensures adequate facilities to serve the entrepreneurship program. The university has built a comprehensive entrepreneurship ecosystem, helping students have many opportunities and creating consensus and connection between the university and the students on the entrepreneurship journey.

It can be said that this is a noteworthy result of LHU in the field of entrepreneurship. In 2023, LHU was honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation from the Minister of Education and Training for having made a positive contribution to the implementation of the project “Supporting Students to Start Businesses by 2025.”

In addition, LHU has also achieved many prestigious awards in reputable entrepreneurship competitions, such as:

• Second Prize in the “National Startup” competition organized by Diễn đàn Doanh nghiệp Magazine in 2018, Top 10 in 2021, Top 20 in 2023, and First Prize in 2006.

• Second Prize in the “SV-STARTUP” competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2021.

• Third Prize and Consolation Prize in 2022.

• First Prize in the “Innovative Startup” competition organized by the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology in 2019.

• Second Prize in 2020, highest-scoring project in 2021, and Second Prize in 2022.

• First Prize in the “Dong Nai Women’s Innovative Startup” competition organized by the Dong Nai Women’s Union.

• First Prize in the 2021 CIC Startup competition organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

• Third Prize in the Innovation Nam A Bank competition in 2022.

• Second and Fourth Prizes in the Design Thinking competition at the Techfest National event in 2023.

To achieve these achievements, the role of the university’s Board of Leaders cannot be denied—they have dared to think, dared to act, and, importantly, they have had unity, consensus, and high determination. The results received by LHU are the product of an entire process of labor, learning, and contribution to create today’s value.

These achievements once again affirm LHU’s position, confirming the qualitative difference that only LHU can have. LHU deserves and is proud to be one of the leading universities in promoting the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Vietnam in the effort to build and develop the economy and society, solve employment for workers, and meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization of the country.
