Reaching the Global Stage – IT Faculty Students' Project Honored at the Intel AI Global Impact Festival 2025

On October 13, 2025, the Faculty of Information Technology at Lac Hong University (LHU) marked a significant international milestone. The LHU student team—comprising Hoang Gia Huy, Bui Xuan Canh, and Vi Hoai Thuong—was honored with a Global Award at the Intel AI Global Impact Festival 2025 for their project, "Your Voice." They were one of only two teams from Vietnam to win in the global category, expanding the footprint of Vietnamese students on the international innovation map.

LHU was honored as Vietnam's sole Global Award winner in the over-18 student category.

🌐 A Global Stage – A Measure of International Caliber

The Intel AI Global Impact Festival is a prestigious academic and technology event, attracting over 1,000 project submissions from 33 countries, with 109 initiatives advancing to the global finals.

The judges evaluated participating projects based on three key criteria: AI technology innovation, real-world social impact, and the implementation of responsible AI.

Vietnam was honored to have two projects recognized this year, with LHU standing out as the outstanding representative in the over-18 age group. The LHU team's global award is not just a reward for the team itself—it is an affirmation of the creative capacity of Vietnamese students in a competitive global environment.

🔍 The "Your Voice" Project – An AI Solution with Global Reach

The Problem Addressed: The Your Voice project opens communication pathways for over 2.5 million deaf and hard-of-speaking individuals in Vietnam. It combines computer vision algorithms, machine learning, and dynamic avatars to provide real-time, two-way translation between Vietnamese Sign Language (VSL) ↔ text/voice.

International Significance: In a global context that is promoting "AI for Good" and focusing on AI ethics, Your Voice addresses both. It creates social impact at a national level and fulfills the requirements for responsible AI implementation—one of Intel's three highest-valued criteria.

Significance Beyond Borders: Although it originated from a domestic need in Vietnam, the methods and technology used by the team can be expanded and applied to other deaf communities worldwide. This places the project among AI applications with international scalability.

How Your Voice works.

It is the result of creative thinking, perseverance, and a community-oriented approach to technology.
