Collaborations boosted in the field of electronics and semiconductor microchips

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology is one of the important industries in daily life and production. The semiconductor industry is being focused on development due to its importance in production as well. Therefore, these fields will certainly be paid much attention to investment and development from the State to businesses.

Grasping the development trend, the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics has gradually geared up the development of this training industry in aspects: training, developing human resources, upgrading facilities and especially boosting collaborations with businesses to improve the program, aiming at best jobs for students.

A delegation of LHU on July 29, 2024 visited and worked with On Semiconductor Vietnam Co., Ltd located at No. 10, 17A Street, Bien Hoa II Industrial Park, Bien Hoa, Dong Nai. Leading the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector, Dr. Pham Van Toan - Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, and faculty members.

At the working session, the Company's Management Board provided the delegation with its development process, entire working processes, especially the semiconductor manufacturing process. The Company's headquarters are located in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. The Company aims to drive energy efficient innovations, empowering design engineers to create products that reduce global energy consumption. The Company provides a comprehensive portfolio of energy-efficient and signal management, logic solutions, discrete and custom devices to help engineers solve unique design challenges in automotive, communications, computing, consumer, industrial, LED, medical, military/aerospace and power supply applications.

The delegation was also guided to explore each production line. On this occasion, lecturers of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics learned a lot about the Company's modern production technologies as well as leading manufacturing ones. The Company especially emphasizes hygiene, 3S/5S, precision in production, and high technical requirements. From here, the lecturers have more perspectives on production and more materials to teach students.

Previously, LHU and the Company inked a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in training, building the curriculum, offering students internships and jobs after graduation. To date, the Company has received nearly 20 LHU graduates majoring in Electrical - Electronics, Automation and Mechatronics Engineering Technology, which is a good premise for the two sides to promote more cooperation in electronics and microcircuits in the future.
