From 10 to 11 June 2025, delegates from LHU had the honor of participating in the thematic Seminar “Risk Management in Higher Education Institutions in the Context of Internationalization and Digital Transformation”, organized by the Center for Education Accreditation – VNU-HCM in collaboration with Outside The Box Security Solutions (OTBSS). The event attracted the attention and participation of numerous experts, educational administrators, and quality assurance officers from universities nationwide.
LHU representatives included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh – Vice Rector; Dr. Tran Hoang Minh – Head of the Administration - Personnel Office; MA. Nguyen Ho Xuan Huong – Head of the Office of Student Affairs; and MPharm. Ngo Dinh Hoang Diem – Deputy Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance.

LHU’s participation in the seminar reaffirms its commitment to continuous learning and improvement in its educational development mission.
The Seminar featured eight working sessions focusing on key topics such as: identifying risks in higher education, risk assessment tools and mitigation strategies, cybersecurity and data risk management in the digital era, risk communication and reporting, ISO 9001-based risk thinking, and action planning practices.
Chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Director of the Center for Education Accreditation - VNU-HCM, the Seminar welcomed a lineup of keynote speakers and presenters, including Mr. Bryce Evans - President and CEO of Outside The Box Security Solutions (OTBSS); Dr. Duong Van Thinh - Vice President of AI Technology at Veron Group (USA); and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Director of Intellectual Property at JIHSI Institute; Director of External Relations at OTBSS; Lecturer at the University of Science - VNU-HCM.
For LHU, participation in the Seminar was not merely a standalone event but a testament to the University’s long-term sustainable development strategy. Over the years, it has proactively assigned staff members to attend prestigious academic forums, actively acquiring new knowledge and transforming it into concrete actions for educational quality assurance. This commitment is clearly reflected in LHU's continuous efforts to enhance its governance capacity, particularly in the context of educational internationalization and technological application.
By strengthening its risk management practices, LHU directly contributes to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the THE Impact Rankings criteria:
SDG 4 – Quality Education: Enhancing educational governance and comprehensive quality assurance, creating a safe and effective learning environment. Additionally, applying ISO 9001-based risk thinking and action planning practices helps reinforce institutional capacity, promote transparency, accountability, and management efficiency, reflecting good governance and positive impact on the educational environment.
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Proactively managing cybersecurity and data risks is vital in the digital transformation context, contributing to the development of a sustainable digital education infrastructure and promoting innovation in training and research.
